I have been so incredibly fortunate to experience all of the above benefits in my life today at age 46. I have amazing energy, vitality, a very healthy libido ;-), managed stress, joy in my heart and so much more, but I have to admit, it hasn’t always been this way, trust me… Here’s where I’ve been, and where I have come from and how I got here…

Today I can happily say that…

“At age 46, I am healthier, happier and more energetic than I’ve ever been!”

But trust me, it hasn’t always been that way…. Let me share a little story about my journey…

About 12 years ago when I started my Master’s Degree program in Chinese Medicine, my mother and father had literally just passed away the month before.

I felt horrible and disoriented but I was determined to stay on track with my education and do it well. So I put myself on autopilot and studied my head off for 3 years straight without a break.

I was also a single mom to my amazing daughter who at that time was in middle school. To top it off, I worked part time so that I could pay all of my bills.

After 3 intense years of burning the candle at both ends and fueling myself on caffeine and often eating on the run, I graduated, BUT I was exhausted and overweight. I had digestive issues and I even wound up with a trip to the cardiologist, because I started having PVC’s (premature ventricular contractions, kind of wacky heart palpitations that were stress induced).

Overall I was just burned out. I was a physical and emotional wreck and I think I was too tired to even realize what a wreck I was.

Enter Reality Check!! (As if the PVC’s weren’t enough)

After I graduated, I started seeing patients as an acupuncturist. I shared my office space with a yoga studio and decided it was convenient to start taking Yoga classes.

I began in a level one class and really struggled. I thought, “Clearly I am just doing it wrong.” So I decided to do a private session with my yoga teacher.

She started me in a very simple position lying over a bolster, and almost all of my joints hurt, especially my low back. I said, “What is wrong with me? How can simply lying over a bolster hurt so badly?” And do you know what she told me?

She told me, “You have the body of an old lady.”

“WHAT???” Hearing that was like a swift punch in the gut… I said to myself. “I am only in my thirties, is this who I want to be, how I want to live my life?” NO WAY!

Between that comment, my trip to the cardiologist, my mother’s poor health and my pure fatigue and over weight body, true awareness had finally set in. I had to really assess my own personal health. How could I be a successful health care practitioner and not be a good representative of vibrant health?

“I had to start practicing what I was preaching…”

I started paying attention to everything I was putting into my mouth, how I was moving my body (or not moving it).

I took small steps, one at a time…I didn’t give up, I created a healthy diet that really works for me that gives me great energy, stable moods and a strong immune system. I can’t even remember the last time I was sick…I think over 3 years ago.

I went from sedentary to being able to ride 40 miles on my bike. This happened over time…with perseverance…

I went from my level 1 yoga class to level 3. Now I do headstands and handstands.

I lost 30 pounds and went from a size 10/12 to a size 6. I now experience pure joy in my life.

I learned everything I could get my hands on about nutrition and fitness, I became a student at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition …and as an acupuncturist I’ve become a specialist in this area.

“Now I’m 46 and I feel (and some say look) 36…”

Most people never guess my real age and they can’t believe I have a 21-year-old daughter who is a senior in college! I feel better and have more energy than when I was in college.

We will discuss all of these areas and you'll be given a great worksheet that will help you assess some of the areas that might need a little tending to. It’s time to get moving! You're also going to learn the importance of the word "pause" and techniques on how to implement that in your life on a daily basis even during the most stressful moments.
