Holiday Emergency De-Bloat Plan!

So what happens when you’ve got that special Holiday event or hot date planned and wake up
with the “bloat” Here is your emergency de-bloat plan of action… After you have your morning
cup o joe… yes that’s right, this is an emergency, I am recommending a cup of coffee. If you don’t drink coffee a cup of green tea will do, and of course it’s your healthier choice.

Next, you may have to head to the store, and here are some things that are on your de-bloat shopping list!

  • Peppermint tea, and/or peppermint oil
  • Asparagus
  • Cucumbers
  • Watercress
  • Artichokes
  • Green tea
  • Lots of fruit, but don’t forget the watermelon (seasonally)
  • Good quality pro-biotic, or really good quality sugar free yogurt with live cultures (Greek)
  • Fresh ginger
  • Fresh lemons

All of the above foods act as great natural diuretics, and will help you reduce your bloating.

Here’s a sample plan for your day:

Breakfast:

Chop up a bunch of the fruit that you bought. Melons, grapes, banana, apples, pineapple etc and eat it with your sugar free probiotic yogurt. Feel free to sip on some peppermint tea while you’re doing the prep work.

You can also choose to blend this all up into a smoothie and even add a bit of ginger to t as well.

Lunch:

You guessed it, how does a watercress, cucumber, asparagus and artichoke salad sound. Drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil and fresh lemon juice. If you want a little protein, just add a little tuna or organic chicken breast to salad.

Afternoon snack… Fruit!

Throughout the day, make sure you’re sipping on either peppermint, green or ginger tea and of course spring water that you can squeeze fresh lemon juice in.

  •  This is no time to sit around, make sure you get some movement and exercise in your day.
  • and do NOT pass the salt

Also, if you think you might be a little gassy? Here is another little trick, try some abdominal self-massage or a nice hot water bottle to reduce the gassy bloat. With the abdominal massage, do it in circular motion from right to left.
