OMG, I’ve Eaten My Face Cream

That’s right, you heard correct, I ate my face cream! What you don’t know, is I did it on purpose, and you know what… I’d do it again!

Busted!

As a matter of fact, I would even do it every day. Sometimes I’ll eat it for breakfast, sometimes for dinner, and sometimes I’ll even eat it as a snack.

Don’t worry, I’m not CRAZY! It just so happens, that what I now choose to use on my face, is organic coconut oil. Yup, you heard me right, my face cream, the stuff I slather on my face every night, is the same stuff I sometimes put in my oatmeal, saute veggies in and even make popcorn with.

Want to know why I am using coconut oil on my face? Well I will tell you… (shhh! This is a little sneak peak into one of them gems I’ll be sharing on my next Rejuvenation Cleanse that starts next Wednesday)

I’ve known for quite some time that our skin is our largest organ and absorbs quite a bit of environmental toxins. As a matter of fact, 45% of everything we put on our body gets absorbed in our body.

Last week, I attended the Longevity Now conference with David Wolfe and one of his presenters, Raw Solla made a comment that “everything we put ON our body, we should be able to put IN our body, and you know what… that hit home and stuck with me.

She also shared with us a little recipe for face cream that I’ve been using since I’ve been home.

1 *Tbsp RAW Honey

1 Tbsp Coconut oil (I use organic)

1 tsp **RAW Cacao powder (optional)

  • Place 1 Tbsp of honey into a small bowl. Honey has been used for centuries as a natural cure for a variety of ailments. Honey may be the perfect skin care product, as it kills germs and reduces swelling and inflammation
  • Add 1 Tbsp of Coconut oil to the honey. Coconut oil helps nourish and clean the skin at the same time. Unlike many other oils and heavy lotions Coconut oil will rinse cleanly away, leaving your skin moisturized and glowing.
  • Add 1 tsp RAW Cacao powder. RAW Cacao are rich source of antioxidants that are very beneficial to keep the skin young and healthy.
  • Mix the ingredients until creamy.

Apply to your face and you will be healthy and beautiful. This cream will

seal in the moisture already present in the skin and prevent the tissue from

dehydrating.

*I actually do not use 1 Tbsp. of the honey, as it makes it a little too sticky for me. Experiment to see what works for you.

**The cacao helps to give you a little bronzy glow. A little sun kissed if you will. So if you’re not looking for that, you can easily omit this ingredient.

You know what? There have been a couple of times when I only used the coconut oil before bed. Can you say “dewy skin” Oh yeah!
