I recently heard a fabulous tele-class from some colleagues that inspired me to write this post and to give a talk at Root Whole
Body Wellness Center where I work. Here is a picture of me giving my talk.
My intention for my talk was to help you survive the holidays with 5 easy to implement steps which includes how a pre-holiday detox will set you on the right path to enjoying your holiday season feeling guilt-free and not deprived.
Here’s a recap of the 5 steps:
- Step 1: Begin your day with a healthy breakfast.
o A good breakfast will give you the fuel you need for your body, and set the blood sugar tone for the day.
o This will ultimately lead to less binging and less mindless eating throughout the day
- Step 2: Incorporate more Greens into your diet.
o Greens are the #1 most nutrient dense food that we can consume AND, it is also the absolute scarcest ingredient in the American diet!
o By adding in Fresh Greens, you naturally “crowd out” poorer dietary choices.
Step 3: #1 missing ingredient to healthy eating & even weight loss!*Eating with Awareness, or Mindful Eating.
o Eating when you’re stressed, eating on the run, eating at your desk or in front of the TV can all lead to over-eating and increased digestive issues. So slow down and allow your brain to receive the signal that you are full.
- Step 4: Significantly diminish your sugar intake.
o Sugar is one of the most destructive elements in our modern food system today, and it’s in everything!
o There are many ways to combat your over-consumption of sugar as well as your cravings. Ask me, I’ve got lots to share about this!
- Step 5: A place to start – Pre-holiday Detox!
o The holiday season can be a time of high stress, way too much to do, and WAY too much food, especially high sugar and white flour foods.
Benefits of a Detox include:
- Increased energy
- Reduced fatigue and burn out
- Strengthen the immune system
- Improved digestion
- Increased mental focus & clarity
- Reduce pain and inflammation
- Decreased headaches
- Better skin
- Jump start weight loss
- Help decrease food cravings
As I just finished the detox myself, what I can tell you is that I have more energy and little to no cravings, not even my morning cup of coffee, which for those who know me, is a minor miracle.
There is still time to consider a pre-holiday detox. Many new clients are starting the week after Thanksgiving.
If you would like to consider a detox, please email me for a complimentary one on one wellness consultation at dianne.delreyes@gmail.com
Much gratitude to you this Thanksgiving Day!
Also, thanks to my inspiration Angela Minelli & Andrea Ramirez

I have done many detoxes. I have gone on special high protein diets. it works. I feel great. I lose my cravings for sugar or salt or coffee. I drink lots of water. And then, I go away to conference, take a long flight, get off my eating schedule, have too many buffets, too many desserts – and it is back to the drawing board. Holidays can have that effect also. However, at this point, I am eating much more mindfully, I AM choosing more greens and less sugar whenever possible, I usually eat a healthy breakfast, and I often take my vitamins and enzymes, etc. it is a continual process, requiring mindfulness every day and at each meal and in between meals. Just as success in business builds over time, eating a healthy diet also builds over time.

Hi Erica,
Thank you for your comment, and I could not agree more. During this cleanse I am meeting with clients at the beginning, to go over cleanse, then toward the end so that I can support them to take away some of the new healthy habits they have just started creating.
My cleanse is a whole foods based program that clients are seeming to find more energy and decreased cravings. It’s such a thrill to see their transformation.
Thank you so much for your input.
Warmly,
dianne
